Wired in South Dakota (WSD) is the highest standard in breeding German Wirehair Pointers. A WSD - branded litter means that a breeder has bred only sire's and dam's who meet the following strict qualifications:
- Performance: A NAVHDA UT Prize I or equivalent
- Health: OFA normal hips, elbows, eyes, thyroid and cardio
- Socialization: Proven positive behavior towards people and dogs
- Hunting: Must hunt in SD proving grounds a min of 20 days per year
